How I Discovered the Benefits of Quinine
After my recent trip to Germany I developed a hacking cough which gave me headaches and made me dizzy at times. I very seldom get colds because I exercise regularly, take my vitamins and eat a healthy diet. Therefore, I wasn’t too concerned when the cough persisted for more than a week. When somebody asked me if I had done something for this bronchial cough, I listened up. I checked out natural treatments for bronchitis. One solution suggested making Quinine water which is a powerful expectorant for phlegm. Monday, February 21, 2011
Stuffy nose? - Flush it!
This time of the year, you may encounter a cold and or a stuffy nose. Living in South Western Ohio, you may have sinus trouble all year around. Let me suggest nasal irrigation or sinus flushing. As Dr. Ben Kim's newsletter suggests, it is even a good practice on a regular base to cleanse the nasal passages. Just like brushing our teeth at night Dr. Kim instructs us to rinse the naval cavity as well. It is as easy as cupping your hand and filling it with warm tab water. Take your nose close to your hand and suck some water up into your nostrils. Leave it there as long as possible, and then let it run out into the sink. Blow your nose into a tissue. This will help remove any dust and extra mucus from your sinus passages. You can repeat this procedure a few times until your sinuses feel clean.
This is especially helpful in the winter when we have the heat on in the house and more dust may be in the air.
When an infection is present you may want to add 1 tsp. of sea salt to 1 cup of warm water and flush with that. You can also buy a neti pot and let the water flow through your nostrils. The saline solution will help with the infection. Below is a link to a video which shows how to do this procedure.
Other ways to clean out the sinuses are going to the sauna. I have written about this before: http://raysolution.blogspot.com/2010/04/sauna-therapy-for-arthritis.html
Here are some other websites on sinus irrigation:

How to Calm Your Restless Legs
Rather than taking medication, or even applying a cream, I suggest using a foam roller. I learned this method from Dr. Ben Kim, a naturopathic doctor from Canada. He points to acupressure points under the knee. In the soft tissue behind the knee which is called popliteal fossa there are acupressure points related to the gallbladder. By putting the foam roller under your knees and raising the legs up and down you can feel the pressure behind your knees. It also stimulates some lymphatic vessels, the politeal vein, blood circulation and other nerve endings, and therefore, benefits the whole leg.
Here is a short video from Dr. Kim’s website:

BAGHA - Ancient Practice of Protection and Empowerment
It is as simple as putting your tongue to the roof of your mouth behind your front teeth. This technique is part of meditation practices but can also be used in stressful moments.
Last week, when we were driving to the hospital for my hip replacement surgery, I was sitting in the back seat, pressing my tongue against my front teeth. In my mind I repeated the words – let go, let go, let go. It helped me to stay calm through all the preparations for the surgery and took me through recovery with ease. To the point, that I was discharged one day early, after only 3 days at the hospital.
The Bagha technique is a part of traditional yoga exercises. Here it is used to calm your mind and restore balance to yourself. The beauty of the practice is that you can use it anytime, anyplace and under any circumstances. The idea is to establish a trigger or metaphor to enter a state of meditation anytime during the day, even with your eyes open.
Burt Goldman suggests to choose an animal for your habit or addiction you want to change. Every time the situation comes up, picture your metaphor and say: STOP.
In energy medicine such as Qi Gong, when you touch the roof of your mouth behind your front teeth with your tongue, it is understood to be the energy switch from the male and female energies. According to Dr. John Diamond the bagha helps balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain.
“Holistic Healing always starts with the actuation of the Life Energy, the Spirit—the Healing Power Within. Only then can there be the full appreciation and joyful acceptance of the beauty and wonder of life. This and nothing less than this is True Health.”
~ Dr. John Diamond

How to Talk to Your Subconscious Mind?
We make decisions with our conscious mind but emotion, thoughts, memories and beliefs are all stored in the subconscious mind.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
“The secret is the answer to all that has been all this is and all that will be.”
We all want to know WHO WE ARE and WHAT IS MY PUPOSE? We can put these kinds of questions to our subconscious mind. It may take a while and sometimes an amazing journey to find the answers to those questions.
Here, I want to introduce a method of “talking” to our body (subconscious mind) in order to find answers in general or to let go of unwanted emotions and memories.
Many teachers have been using the teachings of the Law of Attraction. I belief though, that many of us have been missing out on the blessings of the LOA by being burdened by our past, heavy memories, unprocessed emotions, and general energetic junk.
The reason we can access the subconscious mind is that we are spiritual beings, created of energy. That energy expresses itself in different forms of vibrations or frequencies. Scientists are now able to measure those waves just like sound waves, light waves, or electrical currents. When we go to the atomic level we are protons, neutrons, and electrons. Each element of nature has its own vibration; the different proportions of these three components make different types of atoms or elements as defined by the periodic table. The lighter the element (like gaseous) the more space is registered in between the protons, neutrons, etc.
When you use the techniques mentioned in this blog, you are addressing your body at the energy level, picking up invisible frequencies. The only way the body can answer is through YES or NO questions. The first method I like to introduce is Muscle Testing, also called kinesiology.
"Kinesiology" means the science of movement. Applied Kinesiology was the name given to muscle isolation techniques developed by U.S. chiropractor Dr. George Goodhart from Detroit, Michigan.
Rather than explaining how to do muscle testing, I like to direct you to watch the short video:
The concept behind muscle testing is to help the body, mind and spirit to become strong, or to reveal what is hindering us to be that way. The body will respond to muscle testing if anything enters the environment of the body which may cause imbalance to the functions of it.
Another method is working with the pendulum also called divining. It can be used for the same purpose. Although, it takes more practice. In any case, our mind has to be very calm and clear, in order to get accurate answers. Here is another link about the pendulum: http://healing.about.com/cs/tools/ht/How_pendulums.htm or you can also watch this short video:
With the above healing tools we can step forward to get to know ourselves better. Once we are free of our past, releasing memories and suffering, we can step into the future with greater confidence and vigor.

Benefits of Water Therapy
A friend of mine passed this article on to me a few days ago on a sheet of copied paper. He said it was circulating at the hospital he works. I thought it to be of great value; that’s why I am printing it here in full:
It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value.
We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear, nose and throat diseases.
METHOD OF TREATMENT:
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water.
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes.
3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours.
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.
The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)
2. Gastric (10 days)
3. Diabetes (30 days)
4. Constipation (10 days)
5. Cancer (180 days)
6. TB (90 days)
7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.
Water and Arthritis
Water does many things for our body. But for someone suffering from arthritis, one of the most important tasks H20 has is lubing up joints for maximum and pain-free movement. Arthritis, meaning "joint inflammation" is the general term for many sub-forms of the disease. There is rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis as well as gout, but these are just a few of the about 100 forms. About 43 million Americans suffer from one form or another.
Arthritis, as well as osteoporosis, is linked with fluoride in public drinking water systems. A more debilitating disease with similar symptoms of arthritis is skeletal fluorosis. A reverse osmosis filter installed in the home and drinking bottled water when away from home is one way to ensure not being exposed to this element.
Since the arthritis pain and stiffness is a result of joints not being cushioned, water can aid in this by helping to lubricate and provide padding for these areas. Also, this is a result of increased friction between the cartilage surfaces. When the joints move, a suction pulls water from the bone marrow to the joint cavity-- if there is available water. If there is not enough water, they joints can't glide as they should. So, an increased water intake and being hydrated can keep that water supply there-- and reduce some of the pain. Also, with gout, it can also remove uric acid and other toxins. So in essence, in areas where there is pain, it is almost as if the body is letting you know there is a drought,
This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.
This makes sense…The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...
For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks:
• Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
• Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
• You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
• Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
• 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
• Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive...
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

Here is a link to Shirley's Wellness cafe where there is a good video explaining about the many benefits of water. Scroll to the middle of the web site and look for the video camera.
I have read Dr. Batmanghelidj's book many years ago and forgotten about his advice. He had cured many of his patients with water only. It makes sense since man's body is almost 80-90% water (see picture above).
Dr. B.'s advice: "Use 1/4 tsp. of sea salt for every quart of water you drink. Use a good sea salt, one with at least 80 minerals, liberally with food. As long as you drink the water, you can use the salt. Some put it in their water, some lick it off their hand, some season their foods after cooking. It's up to you. Make sure you take potassium daily (banana, orange juice, etc)."
Please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about; I hope this information will be helpful to you and others.

Sauna Therapy for Arthritis

We can thank the Finns for their inventions of saunas. Sweat lodges are also popular with Native American Indians and cultures like the Alaska Eskimos and the Mayans are familiar with sweat baths.
With the relaxation, the sweating and the release of accumulated toxins the body’s health is greatly benefitted. The sauna is considered the poor man’s pharmacy. It benefits so many symptoms such as arteriosclerosis, diabetes, hypertention, insomnia, obesity, psoriasis, etc.
Your body’s health and immune system are stimulated through a series of alternating sessions of hot sauna and cold showers.
According to Dr. Paavo Aviola, an author in health matters:
"The sauna increases the eliminative, detoxifying and cleansing capacity of the skin by stimulation of sweat glands. A steam bath provides a mild cleansing process for the skin as certain body fluids are released through the skin. It also promotes healthy skin tone and texture due to increased blood circulation."
He also said that sauna therapy stimulates the body’s natural healing force and therefore promotes overall health.
HISTORY OF SAUNAS AND SWEAT LODGES
Many cultures throughout the world have used saunas, thermal baths, or sweat lodges. In the days when there were no showers or indoor baths, the thermal bath (public) was to facilitate healing, purification and relaxation.
• Hippocrates, the father of medicine, believed that an induced fever could cure every illness.
• 2000 years ago, the Romans had public baths to meet their friends and relax.
• The Finnish saunas are known world-wide, and are their best prescription against illness and to
promote cleanliness, and healing during their long winters.
• Well known are also the Turkish steam rooms (harara), which are still used today.
• In Syria, the steam bath, or hammam, remains a focal point of socializing, even among working women and busy families.
• In the Orient, public bath are popular and visited at least once a week, mainly because
most private homes don’t have bath (traditionally). They also have steam rooms, saunas, hot stone rooms, and hot sand rooms.
• Many American Indian tribes have also a long history of sweat lodges for cleanliness, relaxation and to revitalize body, mind and spirit. The partaking in a sweat lodge is often connected with rituals and traditions.
WHY SAUNA THERAPY IS BENEFICIAL FOR ARTHRITIS?
Arthritis and joint pain are greatly relieved through sauna therapy. It relaxes the body, toxins are released through sweating, and it stimulates circulation. Warm muscles are easier to stretch and even the joints become more flexible after being heated in the sauna.
The heat penetrates deeply into the muscles and removes uric acids, calcium deposits, and other toxins which are causing most of the arthritic pain.
Time spend in the sauna can also be used for relaxation and visualization for healing.
WHAT OTHER HEALTH BENEFITS ARE THERE FROM SAUNA THERAPY?
• Benefits cardiovascular system
• Clearer skin
• Detoxifying
• Eliminate dead skin cells
• Improves joint mobility
• Increases blood flow
• Increase circulation
• Kills viruses
• Opens sinus passages
• Promotes weight loss
• Relaxation of the whole body
• Relaxes muscles
• Relieves pain
• Relieves stress
• Speeds up the metabolic process
• Stimulates the immune system
WHICH SAUNA IS BEST FOR YOU?
Dry sauna
Sweating is essential to our health as is breathing and eating. Many people who work in closed in offices or air-conditioned homes don’t sweat enough. Sauna therapy helps to induce heating the body to release sweat and therefore detoxifying the body. The changes of heat (sauna) and cold (shower or cold bath) increase the body’s circulation and stimulate the cardiovascular system.
Most of the secreted sweat is water (99%) but the rest is undesirable waste like excessive salt, uric acid and toxic metals. In only 15 minutes of sauna treatment toxins are expelled which would take the kidneys 24 hours.
Steam sauna
In recent years scientists have discovered the benefits of negative ions in the sauna therapy. Additionally to the relaxation effect of the sauna, negative ions invigorate the body. Other ways of breathing negative ions is by having life plants around the house or stand by a waterfall.
In Finland saunas with wood burning stoves are most popular. Water is poured over rocks placed on the stove which releases the steam with the negative ions.
Infrared sauna
The heat of the infrared rays will penetrate deep into the muscle tissue. Far infrared energy is absorbed by the skin and is beneficial to the whole body by reducing muscle spasm, joint stiffness and pains from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. It is especially beneficial if it used immediately after an injury.
WHERE CAN YOU FIND SAUNAS?
Build one in your own home or garden
That’s probably the greatest luxury to have one build in privacy of your own home. With the portable infrared saunas it is just a matter of purchase.
Public health spas or fitness centers
Many health spas or fitness centers have saunas. It is a matter of educating the general public about the benefits of the sauna therapy.

The Healing Sound of Music

Music is truly the one universal language of mankind. Music is a universal language that transcends boundaries and bonds people even thousands of miles apart.
This article is exploring some of the many applications of music and how it can help us to live happier and healthier lives.
Music helps you to tap into your most primal emotions; it can change your mood, it can help relief stress, and it can even heal your body. Whatever may be your reason to enjoy a happy tune, it can move you at the deepest level of your being. Why is music so universally binding? It is that man is more than just flesh and bones. You are a spiritual being with emotions, and you vibrate at certain frequencies. Music responds to this inner essence and brings you in balance with the tunes of nature.
There is even a very practical reason that music is called the universal language. All music is composed of just 7 main notes. It doesn’t matter what instrument you play or what part of the world you are in, the performers are still only using these same 7 notes. Music can express more than just words because the melodies and rhythm can reach the deepest part of your heart and soul. Music can vocalize the inexpressible. It is used to lament, to worship, to heal, or to make a social statement like in rap. Shamans of the past as well as healers in the present day are seeking assistance from the spiritual realm.
Music therapy is even effective on animals and plants. Studies and Kirlian photography have shown that plants and trees grow better in company of good music and show a better growth. Animals too, reflect their behavioral pattern much better when exposed to music. Masaru Emoto from Japan, proved through his photography what influences music has on water crystals and how consciousness can transform water at the molecular level.
Additionally to the different occasions for playing and listening to music there are the many different styles of music. Music is truly the one universal language of mankind. Throughout the world's history many styles have developed. Music can be divided into genres in many different ways. You can distinguish songs by musical instruments or by ethnical or geographical origin.
What kind of music is stimulating to you? What kind of rhythm is getting your juices flowing? You are never too old to experiment with new tunes. Music can truly add to the joys of life and promote healing to your ailing body.
1) Nursery lullabies
There isn’t a parent in the world, who hasn’t sung a lullaby to a fussing infant or spend the night singing to a sick child. The sounds of lullabies are sung by parents to calm their children, either to put them to sleep or to comfort them in time of upset or a nightmare. The lyrics are simple words like: Hush, little baby, don't say a word. Papa's gonna buy you a mockingbird. Often the words don’t have a deep meaning, but the soothing sound of the music puts the baby at ease and allows you to get the needed sleep, too.
2) Kids love silly songs
Children love to sing silly songs. You sang silly songs when you were children and now your grandchildren enjoy singing funny and silly songs! Enjoy some tongue twisters or funny rhymes with any young one and he'll be your friend for life.
3) Play music while you work
Most offices or stores play music during the day. If not bring your own and enjoy your favorite tunes while you accomplish a maybe not so favorable task. Whistle why you work can also be a nice break-up during a work day.
If you want to stay healthy this winter while everyone around you is coming down with colds and flu, sing the birthday song while you wash your hands, and don't stop scrubbing until you've finished the last "happy birthday to you."
4) Play music while on a road trip
Put an end to road rage by playing your favorite music in the car. This can be during your daily commute or on a trip across the country.
I am sure you have your own favorite music list for your family road trips. It is best to choose music everybody loves and knows to sing along. Our family’s favorites are country music songs by John Denver, Allan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Celine Dion, The Judds, Josh Groban, Michael Bouble, and others like The Beatles, etc. It became almost like a ritual, we had to play these songs while driving to Grandpa’s house.
5) Play music when you are sad
Everyone has a favorite sad song or two that reminds them of a special someone or maybe just a special time in their lives. Sad songs have been around for years and are surely here to stay. Sad tunes take many people to a special memory to relive something they thought may have been gone.
In modern times, blues music can make you feel good by listening to songs about bad times.
6) Music as stress reducer
If you are looking for an inexpensive and quick stress reducer, listen to music, sing or hum your way through work or stressful situations. Music helps you relax and release stress. Have you ever been to a restaurant where they don’t play music? Playing happy music is to help you to have a pleasant experience eating. Soothing music triggers a relaxation response which can lower cortisol levels, making it easier to digest food.
Playing classical music while eating helps you eat less, digest better and enjoy your food more.
7) Music Therapy as a Healer
In the recent years a new field of therapy has develop using the healing sounds of music. The Mozart Effect has been used to raise smarter children as well as support healing patients in hospitals. They use it as pain management, to ward off depression, to ease muscle tension, or calm kids with ADD. Music therapy in its many applications allows people with emotional problems to explore their feelings. It can help to change your mood, help in solving problems, make positive changes in your mood, and resolve conflicts. Music can also strengthen communication and physical coordination skills. Or it can help those with neurological or development disorders to improve their physical and mental functioning.
8) Sing at church to praise God
Every Sunday after the church service I noticed that whatever pain I had before was not as profound. In fact, the more I put my heart into singing and really enjoying the tunes and the words, I felt carried away. Praising God uplifts your spirit and your body responds to the high vibrations of the hymns and holy songs.
9) Music during the Holidays
During the Christmas season I learned to appreciate the uniting power of Christmas music. For a whole months everybody in our family wanted to hear Christmas songs on the radio, playing their favorite CD’s, etc. Most of these songs create a beautiful atmosphere.
10) Meditate with OM
This goes more into the relaxation and meditation mode. The sound of OM or AUM is from the ancient Hindu culture and represents you to get in touch with the creator, the creation and the creative process. There are many interpretations of the origin of the sound the fact is that it really works. People of all cultures can enjoy the benefit of humming OM whenever they need a pick-up of energy because it really entrains you with the power of God and nature.
11) Music helps you to sleep better
Rather than watching the news before going to bed, put on some soothing songs.
A study published in the Journal of Advanced Nursing showed that listening to music for 45 minutes prior to bedtime helped older adults sleep better and longer. It also improved the quality of their sleep.
12) Music and Dance
Music and dance are inseparable. Moving rhythmically is innate. Dance is just another form of self-expression and has existed since the beginning of humankind. Before verbal or written communication existed, humans have used movement to communicate and to help them comprehend, shape, and make meaning of their world. One could ask what was there first music or the dance? It’s kind of like the chicken or the egg? Expressing your emotions through moving your body and swaying to the music can be very healing for some people. Most dances are brought to us through their ethnical heritage like the famous latin dances like cha-cha-cha, rumba, and tango, or the even more famous waltz. But even modern dances have their specific music composed for swing dance, twist, and hip hop.
All of them demonstrate a deep sense of expressing human feelings and emotions.
Listening to your favorite songs or music transports you to happy memories, and happy days, and more happy days that are yet to come.

Dorn Method - adjusting the length of your legs
My massage therapist also worked on the trigger points of the leg muscles. Through the Dorn Method I actually discovered that it is pretty common and most of all that it is very easy to correct it.
The Dorn Method was first applied by a German layman after he had injured himself at work. Dieter Dorn followed the directions of a folks healer to get over his back pain and later developed this method into a healing modality which is now taught all over the world, mainly in Europe (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and the Philippines, where Dr. Thomas Zudrell started a school to teach this method.
There are also ways I can help myself with this method, in fact, even after treatment with a practitioner, I have to keep up with the exercises myself to reeducate my muscles. This is important especially if the injury which caused the misalignment is an old one. It takes a while to adjust the pelvis to go back to its original place.
I took the information to my massage therapist and he applied it for me. I am working on walking without a limp.

Bentonite Clay

What is Bentonite Clay?
Bentonite Clay is a substance that can be found around Fort Benton, Wyoming.
There are two available types of natural clay - sodium bentonite (swelling type) and calcium bentonite (non-swelling type). Sodium bentonite is primarily used for industrial purposes (examples are in the drilling mud for oil exploration, in closing up and sealing subsurface disposal systems for used nuclear fuel and other hazardous chemicals, etc.). The richest sources of sodium bentonite can be found mainly between South Dakota and Montana, in the Southwestern parts of the Unites States and in Greece. Calcium bentonite is the form used in alternative medicine and is mainly used for detoxification purposes. The biggest deposits of this mineral are located in the Great Plains, the Central Mountains and the Southeastern portions of the United States. Another vast resource can be found in Chongzuo, Guangzi Province in China.
What are the benefits of Bentonite Clay?
Bentonite clay has strong internal cleansing properties. As a result, it has become a very popular ingredient in some detoxification programs. It has helped people who were struck with symptoms of constipation, like bloating and gas. It can also bring relief of symptoms from some diseases as serious as Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Other benefits of Bentonite clay are:
* After radiation treatment, it can remove heavy metals and chemicals
* Healthful bacterial balance in the digestive system is promoted
* Liver detoxificationCleanses colon of toxinsBoosts immune system
* According to Frederic Damrau, Bentonite Clay can help put a stop to diarrhea:
"When 35 individuals suffering from diarrhea took two tablespoons of bentonite in distilled water daily, the diarrhea was relieved in 97% in 3.8 days, regardless of the original cause of the problem."
Caution: Pregnant women and aged person should not take bentonite. Also be cautious when taking medicines or even supplements. They should be two hour earlier.
As with all situation, when you have any doubt or questions, consult with your health professional first.
What is the mineral content of Bentonite Clay?
Silica- 61.4%
Aluminum- 18.1%
Iron- 3.5%
Sodium- 2.3%
Magnesium- 1.7%
Calcium- 0.04%
Titanium- 0.02%
Potassium- 0.01%
Moisture- 7.8%
pH - 8.3 - 9.1
Special situation when Bentonite clay was applied:
After the meltdown of Chernobyl in Russia, clay was added to chocolate bars and distributed to the masses to reduce the effects of the nuclear radiation. In addition, the scientists who went in afterward painted their bodies with a layer of clay mud before donning their radiation resistant gear to absorb any radiation that might have leaked through their suits and render it essentially harmless.During the Balkan War the British army used clay for cholera. The mortality rate was 60% for all soldiers who contracted this disease. However, when clay was used, the mortality rate went down from 60% to an amazing 3%. Since then the British army uses clay for treatment of poisoning."During the First World War, the Russian soldiers received 200 grams of clay along with their rations, andit was added to mustard in several French regiments, who remained free of the dysentery, which ravaged nearby regiments."
Additionally to the internal use of Bentonite clay, it can also be used externally in form of bath and poultices.
How to take Bentonite Clay?
Depending on if you bought liquid or powdered clay, follow the instructions on bottle, usually 2 Tablespoons of liquid equal 1 teaspoon of powder, dissolved in water.
Here is a recommondation from Hannah Krogers "Old Time Remedies For Modern Ailments" which I have done a few times:
Take 2-3 TBSPS. liquid Bentonite in one glass of water
Take 1 heaping teaspoon of psyllium seed in a glass of unsweetened juice.
Drink more fluids, like herb teas, water or fresh pressed juices for a total of 16 ounces.
Start at 7:00 AM and repeat at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM for a total of 5 times during the day.
At 9:00 PM take an enema to eliminate all the waste from the colon and you can sleep soundly. Do this for 3-5 days. On the 4th and 5th day you will lose besides long ropes of waste, black matter which is the sign that you may start adding food to your diet like raw and steamed vegetables, and raw and steamed fruit. Discontinue clay after 7th day, re-establish friendly bacteria with acidophilus or yogurt, and go on a good natural diet.
This is a modern day fast, and you want feel too hungry. It is to avoid colon problem and will help you to stay well.

How to do dry skin brushing
Buy a natural body brush. Find a brush with a long handle that lets you reach personal areas like your back and butt. Brush all body parts in circular motion, either starting with your feet or at the head (always brush toward your heart). It only takes a few minutes (5-15 minutes before showering). When you begin to dry brushing, you will notice your body feeling more awake and this will not only lead to more balanced skin moisture, but you will feel more energized and awake. Your skin will feel tighter and firmer with time and will feel softer, smoother and more moisturized.

Tap Everything
The Chinese have studied the meridians for thousands of years. Acupuncture manipulates the meridians through needles or pressure to the skin. They correspond to different organs (heart, liver, stomach, etc.) and physiological systems (immune, nervous, lymphatic system, etc.) in the body. They are our body’s energy bloodstream.
When the body gets sick, these meridians get out of balance. Donna Eden (http://www.innersource.net/) describes in detail the different energy systems in her book “Energy Medicine.”
To do the tapping we don’t need to know a lot about meridians or the body’s energy system.
Emotional Freedom Technique was introduced in 1995 by Gary Craig, a Stanford engineer in lifelong pursuit of personal well-being. He recognized at a young age that the quality of his thoughts were mirrored in the quality of his life and has been intensely interested in personal improvement ever since.
His underlying theory was that "the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system." The EFT system includes tapping on 12 acupuncture points and repeating reminder phrases about your problem aloud. Mr. Craig believed that this sequence of tapping would balance one's energy system; he recommends it as a potential solution to any challenge.

Gary suggests to first use the tapping on physical pain and later adress emotional issues.
We have to understand that we are responsible for our life. To do the tapping we don’t need any specific place or circumstance, just a willingness to let go of negativity. Let’s make room for the good life, the life we were intended to live.
