The Health Benefits of Honey and Cinnamon

Honey and cinnamon, with its taste and sweet fragrant, creates a magic effect. We all love the breads and rolls from our childhood.
I just recently became aware of the benefits of honey and cinnamon for arthritis pain. But there is a long list of other ailments which can be helped with this combination as well.
Honey and cinnamon’s anti-bacterial properties act as an anti-inflammatory, too.

For the tea: Mix together 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and add it to a cup of green tea. Drink in the morning and at night and within a few days to a week, you should find some relief.
For the tincture: Mix one part honey to two parts of lukewarm water and add a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder until it forms a paste. Massage this paste onto the itching/painful part of your body in a slow circular motion. Many people have found that their pain gets noticeably less within a matter of minutes.
In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week out of the 200 people so treated practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.

Here are the other ailments which can be helped:

1. Bad Breath:
People of South America, first thing in the morning gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water. So their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

2. Bladder infection:
Mix cinnamon powder and honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink. It destroys the germs in the bladder.

3. Cancer:
Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month 3 times a day.

4. Cholesterol:
Add honey to cinnamon powder mixed in boiled water or green tea and drink.
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder
mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to
reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within 2 hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken 3 times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. As per information received in the said journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

5. Colds:
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold and clear the sinuses.

6. Diabetics:
Cinnamon has an insulin boosting property (water soluble compounds called polyphenol type A polymers) which have the ability to boost insulin activity about 20 fold and can benefit people who have high sugar levels (obese and diabetics).

Also, read the honey hibernation diet theory to find out how honey contributes to the metabolizing of undesirable cholesterol and fatty acid, provides a fuelling mechanism for the body, keep blood sugar levels balanced, and let our recovery hormones get on with burning body fat stores.

7. Fatigue:
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon power in equal parts, are more alert and flexible.

Dr. Milton who has done research says that a half tablespoon honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3.00 p.m. when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week.

8. Gas:
According to the studies done in India & Japan, it is revealed that if honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

9. Hearing loss:
Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder taken in equal parts may restore hearing.

10. Hair loss:
Those suffering from hair loss or baldness, may apply a paste of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder before bath and keep it for approx. 15 min. and then wash the hair. It was found to be effective even if kept on for 5 minutes.

11. Heart disease:
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, chappati, or other bread, instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also, those who already had an attack if they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack.

Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heartbeat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as we age the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalizes the arteries and veins.

12. Immune system:
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral diseases.

13. Indigestion:
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food, relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

14. Infertility:
Yunani and Ayurvedic Medicine have been using honey for thousands of years to strengthen the semen of men. If impotent men regularly take two tablespoon of honey before going to sleep, their problem will be solved.

In China, Japan and Far-East countries, women, who do not conceive and need to strengthen the uterus, have been taking cinnamon powder for centuries. Women who
cannot conceive may take a pinch of cinnamon powder in half teaspoon of honey
and apply it on the gums frequently throughout the day, so that it slowly mixes with the saliva and enters the body.

A couple in Maryland, USA, had no children for 14 years and had lost hope of having a child of their own. When told about this process, husband and wife started taking honey and cinnamon as stated above; the wife conceived after a few months and had twins at full term.

15. Influenza (Flu):
A scientist in Spain has proven that honey contains a natural ingredient, which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

16. Insect bites:
Take one part honey to two parts of lukewarm water and add a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder, make a paste and massage it on the itching part of the body slowly. It is noticed that the pain recedes within a minute or two.

17. Longevity:
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly arrests the ravages of old age. Take 4 spoons of honey, 1 spoon of cinnamon powder and 3 cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, 3 to 4 times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age.

18. Obesity:
To reduce weight daily drink a mixture of a teaspoon of honey with half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder boiled in water with an empty stomach in the morning about half an hour before breakfast.

19. Pimples:
Mix three tablespoons of Honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder into a paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the root.

20. Skin infections:
Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts, cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.

21. Toothache:
Make a paste of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and five teaspoons of honey and apply on the aching tooth. This may be applied 3 times a day till the tooth stops aching.

22. Upset Stomach
Honey taken with cinnamon powdercures stomachache and also clears stomach ulcers at the the root.

23. Weight loss
Cinnamon and Honey formula for weight loss:
This should be prepared at night before going to bed.

1. Use 1 part cinnamon to 2 parts raw honey. 1/2 tsp cinnamon to 1 tsp honey is recommended but you can use more or less as long as in the ratio of 1 to 2. --- so 1 tsp cinnamon to 2 tsp raw honey is ok too as an example.

2. Boil 1 cup (8 oz.) of water.

3. Pour water over cinnamon and cover and let it steep for 1/2 hour. (30 minutes)

4. Add honey now that it has cooled. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.

5. Drink 1/2 of this directly before going to bed. The other 1/2 should be covered and refrigerated.

6. In the morning, drink the other half that you refrigerated...but do not re-heat it...drink it cold or at room temp only.

Do not add anything else to this recipe. No lemon, no lime, no vinegar. It is not necessary to drink it more time in a day...it is only effective on an empty stomach and primarily at night.

This works for most people. Inches are lost before any measurement on the scales. This program will cause significant inches lost...but you will reach a plateau and may not lose anymore. This is because the cinnamon and honey cause a cleansing effect in the digestive tract and cleans out parasites and other fungus and bacteria that slow down the digestion...causing a toxic build up. (Lowers pH) Once this is all cleaned out then you will most likely have the weight loss slow down.

Other side effects from a cleansing can occur because of toxins being released...if this occurs, cut back on how much you use or take a break.

Additionally, people report increased energy, more sex drive, and feeling happier/mood enhancer.
The above suggestions have not been evaluated by a medical physician. Since they are so easy to follow, I don’t think they can do any harm. If you have any health concerns, please visit with your designated health care provider.
It is found that a mixture of Honey and Cinnamon cures most of the diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Ayurvedic as well as Yunani medicine have been using honey as a vital medicine for centuries. Scientists of today also accept honey as a very effective medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases. Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients.

Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada, on its issue dated 17 January, 1995 has given the above list of diseases that can be cured by Honey and Cinnamon as researched by western scientists.

NOTE: pregnant women should not take the combination of honey and cinnamon.
NOTE: The honey used needs to be REAL RAW UNPASTEURIZED HONEY. If it says PURE honey it is most likely pasteurized. It is best to only buy honey that says RAW or UNPASTEURIZED on the label. The difference is that the enzymes are all heated out of the pasteurized honey.

NOTE: If some of these suggestion seem to outrageous to you, you better go and consult a qualified physician. To me, it sounds totally harmless and I love the taste of honey and cinnamon.

WARNING: Cassia is widely sold as cinnamon and contains a noteworthy quantity of a toxin known as coumarin. You must limit or avoid your use of the cassia product as a medicine.

Law of Growth

When we talk about the "Law of Growth" there are two different aspects we have to consider. One is to look at the law from a spiritual point of view (that includes only human beings). The other is to consider that law from the physical nature where everything pretty much runs on automatic.

According to the bible the process of creation took “Seven days.” We all know that these were not literal days of 24 hours. The account of Genesis describes how the creation developed through certain stages, with man being the highest form of creation. 2 Peter 3:8 states “…with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

Even science with its theory of evolution acknowledges that species become better and more sophisticated with each generation.
In the Principle of Creation we talk about the growing period for created beings. It takes us through 3 basic stages, like a day starts with evening, night, and morning; or formation, growth, and completion.

While all creation is growing automatically through these three stages, human beings, having the highest position in the creation, and also being the mediators between the two worlds of the invisible spiritual world and the external visible world, grow through an indirect dominion first. That is their time of spiritual maturation until they understand the purpose of their existence and learn about the spiritual nature of the universe and their eternal life in the spiritual world, when they enter into a realm of God’s direct dominion.

During the time in the realm of indirect dominion, man is governed by the law of the Principle which is kind of like a rail to run our life on as a guideline. Once we master the principles of life we can live with God in the direct dominion here on earth. That is the realm where man fulfills his personal responsibility and works in obedience with God. By that time man has developed his heart and is able to love as a child, as a brother or sister and finally as a parent. In other words, the family is his training ground to get along with others, and he becomes accountable to share roles of leadership and responsibility.

That may sound very ideal but isn’t that what all religions desire? The movie “The Secret” became very popular in the past few years. Many New Agers practice the law of attraction and visualization. In “The Master Key” by Charles Haanel (1866-1949), who was a noted business man in St. Louis, wrote in 1912 that everything is vibration.

What you want has a particular vibration, and to attract it, your mind must be set to that vibration. Any delay in the law of growth is necessary because your mind has not attuned itself to the object of its desire. In other words, it does not yet believe that it already possesses that object and so it does not.
What do we mean then by attuning the mind to the vibration of the object it wishes to correlate with? We mean that your mind will determine the length of time it takes for your object to take form under the law of growth. It will take as long as it takes your mind to become totally in tune with the fact that you already own the object.

Again, because of this individualization of the law of attraction based on the mind's ability to believe, there can be no hard and fast laws as to how long a length of time from starting until finishing will be.
On the other hand the law of growth for creation takes time, like when you plant a seed in the spring, you water and watch it all summer long, and finally in the fall you will be able to harvest.

Once we enter in the realm of direct dominion, we will be in total communication with God and the spiritual realm, and have access to the abundance of the universe as well as feel the obligation which comes with that kind of insight.

In his book “You can Create Your Own Miracles,” Napoleon Hill dedicates two chapters to the law of growth, one in regard to change and one in regard to struggle. He relates that the law of growth through change is a miracle because it provides man with progress. Our civilizations have developed through the ages by adopting through wars, epidemics of diseases, drought, and other irresistible forces of nature which forces man to free himself from the effects of his follies and start all over again.

“In everything and everyone the law of growth is through eternal change.” ~ Napoleon Hill.

What is that purpose of the law of change? It is man’s education to force us to develop our mind-powers and the resources of our heart.
The same goes with the law of growth through struggle. Struggle is necessary for growth because strength, both physical and spiritual, is the product of struggle. Think of exercising your muscles everyday and you’ll have strong arms, legs and a strong body. Without the exercise, the muscles atrophy and eventually, your body can’t function properly.
By keeping everything in nature flow, growth can occur, cells renew themselves, and the body is healthy. On a larger scale, any country where the people just accept their lot and are not willing to participate in the law of change, will perish. Man has an inborn resiliency and ability to adjust to struggle, because it is the creator’s desire, for us to become independent and self-propelled.

Through the struggle we discover our purpose and can participate with others to make the world a better place. We also develop our ability to love.

Why haven’t we done it yet? We tried it in many ways – our own ways. Let’s try it God’s way.

How to Find Inner Peace with the Meditation inspired by a Roman Emperor

"For we are made for co-operation, like feet, like hands, like eyelids, like the rows of the upper and lower teeth. To act against one another then is contrary to nature."
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

Recently, I came across the classical meditations of Marcus Aurelius, Roman Emporer who lived from April 26, 121 ~ March 17, 180 AD. He ruled with Lucius Versus as a co-emporer from 161-180 AD. He is considered the last of the five good emporers, who was educated in the stoic (God determines everything for the best and that virtue is sufficient for happiness) philosophies of the Greeks.

I was very impressed by this deep thinker who is in the Christian, culture sphere considered a Pagan. He shows commitment to a life of meaning and virtue, and his writing has become part of the Western classic. Obviously, he was part of the better-educated citizens of Rome. This education allowed him to be self-disciplined, virtuous and seek out inner tranquility. Aurelius was also a social reformer who worked for the improvement of the poor, the slaves, and convicted criminals. It is no wonder that in the non-Christian world he became somewhat a role model. Aurelius felt threatened by the Christians and persecuted them viciously.
We can see the stoic philosophy resembles Buddhism with its emotional detachment and focus on morality.
Let us find the good in these meditations which were originally written in Greek and are still revered as a literary monument of service and duty.

Here is an excerpt from the 4. Book:

"Men seek retreats for themselves, houses in the country, sea-shores, and mountains; and thou too art wont to desire such things very much.
But this is altogether a mark of the most common sort of men, for it is in thy power whenever thou shalt choose to retire into thyself.
For nowhere either with more quiet or more freedom from trouble does a man retire than into his own soul, particularly when he has within him such thoughts that by looking into them he is immediately in perfect tranquility; and I affirm that tranquility is nothing else than the good ordering of the mind. Constantly then give to thyself this retreat, and renew thyself; and let thy principles be brief and fundamental, which, as soon as thou shalt recur to them, will be sufficient to cleanse the soul completely, and to send thee back free from all discontent with the things to which thou returnest. For with what art thou discontented?
With the badness of men? Recall to thy mind this conclusion, that rational animals exist for one another, and that to endure is a part of justice, and that men do wrong involuntarily; and consider how many already, after mutual enmity, suspicion, hatred, and fighting, have been stretched dead, reduced to ashes; and be quiet at last.-

But perhaps thou art dissatisfied with that which is assigned to thee out of the universe.-
Recall to thy recollection this alternative; either there is providence or atoms, fortuitous concurrence of things; or remember the arguments by which it has been proved that the world
is a kind of political community, and be quiet at last.-

But perhaps corporeal things will still fasten upon thee.-

Consider then further that the mind mingles not with the breath, whether moving gently or
violently, when it has once drawn itself apart and discovered its own power, and think also of all that thou hast heard and assented to about pain and pleasure, and be quiet at last.-

But perhaps the desire of the thing called fame will torment thee.-

See how soon everything is forgotten, and look at the chaos of infinite time on each side of the present, and the emptiness of applause, and the changeableness and want of judgement in those who pretend to give praise, and the narrowness of the space within which it is circumscribed, and be quiet at last. For the whole earth is a point, and how small a nook in it is this thy dwelling, and how few are there in it, and what kind of people are they who will praise thee."
